VI. Overcoming Personal Barriers in Evangelism
To be able to share the gospel effectively, we must first overcome personal barriers in evangelism, which include:
- Creeping Universalism (some Christians doubt the doctrine of hell, which results in the dilution of the importance of faith-sharing)
"for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ... since, then, we know what it is to fear the LORD, we try to persuade men." - 2 Cor 5:10-11
- Limited speaking ability
- Limited Intellectual ability (worrying how to answer questions posed by intellectuals)
- Fear of rejection
- Limited power (when we depending on ourselves rather than placing our trust on God and the Holy Spirit to bring us through all circumstances)
In a nutshell, the only real barrier to sharing our faith is SELF. Trust in God to guide us, guard us and empower us. next page
